C, C++ Lead Engineer - Software Development

Software Engineer Opensource will contribute actively to development of new Eaton Opensource project: http://42ity.org/

Responsibilities:

  • Develops new Eaton Opensource project.

  • Develops underlying Opensource components for Data Centers management.

  • Supports design, industrialization and validation of products.

  • Works in an international agile team.

  • Designs and develops solutions for customer’s problems.

  • Reviews designs and implementations of others.

  • Implements products matching the specifications.

  • Executes maintenance and evolution of Eaton Opensource Software.

  • Design and implementation of tailored solution for specific customers.

  • Achieves planned objectives.

  • Contributes to validation plan definition

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor´s degree (or equivalent experience in relevant field)

  • Good knowledge and experience in Linux, Unix and operating systems in general

  • Programming languages (C, C++)

  • Analytical skills for problem solving with focus on simple solutions

  • Good written & oral communications skills

  • Good presentation skills

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Ability to communicate in English

Nice to have:

  • Experience with network management

  • Experience with environment monitoring systems

  • Knowledge of authentication mechanisms and user management

  • Other languages (shell, Perl, Python, Java, OSGI, Maven, NetBeans)

  • Network protocols (IP, Modbus, Telnet, SMTP, LDAP/Active Directory, SSL, SSL/SSH, …)

  • Linux distribution packaging (RPM, DEB, …)

Web 2.0 and Javascript (Ext JS, Yahoo UI, Prototype, ...)

  • Experience with zeromq

  • Experience with contributing to OpenSource projects

  • Experience with fork-merge development (github)

  • Experience with Continuous Integration

  • Knowledge of UPS/ePDU, Data Center business

  • GIT/SVN development tools
