We are looking for a Network Transportation Manager to join our European Transportation team. The position is located in Prague, CZ.
As an integral part of the European Transportation team, the Network Transportation Manager is responsible for the optimization of the transportation network. The role ensures the cost effective and reliable networking of Amazon FCs and line haul connections to all Direct Injection carriers. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding the overall EU Transportation strategy and continually identifying operational, service, and process improvements in relation to customer experience enhancement in a cost effective environment. The European Transportation team works with Amazon’s Fulfilment Centres (FC), Supply Chain, Customer Service, Retail and Finance teams and externally with service providers, offering business and logistics expertise to ensure optimal delivery of service solutions.
Manage existing international inter warehouses routes connections to the highest degree of cost effectiveness and reliability.
Manage a team of Network Specialists and Program Managers
Develop the network by identifying new opportunities for cost reduction or experience improvements and implementation of same. (This is for both national connections and international)
Ensure up to date and accurate statistics, management reports and analysis are available and maintained.
Work across the EU in a cross-functional environment.
Interfaces and coordinates activity with Operations Managers and Process owners to develop and manage change within the network.
Liaison and collaboration with external stakeholders (mainly carriers)
Master degree in Logistics/Supply Chain/Mathematics/Science/Engineering subjects
Experience in supply chain and/or logistic operations
Strong ability to manage multiple operational tasks in a fast paced and demanding environment
Clear understanding of Transportation Logistics network management, Customer Service & warehouse processes and priorities
Support change rather than maintain the status quo and to bring about change via relationship management skills rather than merely through technical excellence
Strong inter-personal and relationship-building skills.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills; presence and ability to think on his/ her feet
In-depth knowledge of operating and analysis tools; solution driven approach to system and process; advanced computer literacy (Excel and Database tools)
Fluent in English
Any additional European languages (German/French)
Experience of Six Sigma/ Lean analytical techniques is a plus
Experience of supply chain management and transportation concepts: forecasting, planning, optimization, logistics, delivery performance, carrier negotiation, inventory management, S&OP.
