IDC Research Manager - Telco in Prague, Czech Republic
The Prague regional HQ of IDC Central Europe (CEE) requires a Research Program Manager to join its team of Telco market research specialists.
The successful candidate is required to be practitioner in the field of Telco solutions and markets either on the delivery side or as an IT manager on the demand side. He or she would preferably have business development, product management, industry analysis or market research experience, be a fluent English speaker. The successful candidate is required to have market and business experience in cloud or similar area, be a fluent English speaker, and have a working knowledge of the IT markets. Candidates should be prepared to travel within the CEE region if necessary and be expected to work flexible hours. The position is open to candidates with 5+ years work experience. Ideally, applicants should be already based in Central Europe.
The position has an overall responsibility for the company’s service and product offering related to research on the Telco solutions and for the entire CEE Telco research team. The candidate will perform market development, research program development and management, research scoping and design, sales and marketing support activities, will participate in both syndicated and custom research advising to both IT vendors and CIOs/IT users on various aspects of Telco solutions and markets. Moreover, she/he will help to build internal and external visibility and awareness, support sales and client engagements and will cooperate with other functional areas within IDC, such as other research programs, events and marketing.
Responsibilities will include meeting the business goals and financial targets, developing the research portfolio and products, planning and executing business development and coordinating operative activity, such as meeting deadlines and QA/QCs requirements associated with the IDC's Telco and digital transformation research practices. Operative tasks include coordinating data collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis, delivering research content, writing reports and preparing presentations. Acting as a thought leader towards customers and in marketing activities, developing the network of IDC within the IT industry and enterprise users. Fostering a team environment while providing a vision for the team. This task also entails the monitoring and evaluation of employees and the definition of goals for employees in conjunction with the higher management.
Min 5 years hands on experience in the field of Telco industry/markets on the vendor side or as IT professional
Experience with business development, product, and people management
Experience in public speaking and marketing techniques
Proven time with software industry market analysis and trends
Native or fluent English speaker (fluency in a Central or Eastern European language is a plus)
A University degree (IT or Business/Economics)
