Director Sourcing Services EMEA

Location: Prague

Full time unlimited contract

Regional Sourcing operations leader is responsible for regional tactical buying and buying for any delegated categories of spend. The person is responsible for REGIONAL results on savings, compliance, turnaround times, payment channel compliance, supplier optimization and improvement of digital content of suppliers with recurring spend. The person is responsible for defining and executing the sourcing strategy, including defining approach to market, managing sourcing event documentation and supplier invites, evaluating results, and awarding suppliers. Maintain supplier relationships by resolving key disputes, negotiating final pricing and commercial terms, and performing key stakeholder activities. Interface with suppliers and the organization on contract creation, review and approval, finalization, and further contract amendments to price and scope. Engage cross-functional stakeholders to address concerns, provide process updates, and conduct change management activities. In addition to tactical buying responsibility the person will also own the team running sourcing events for delegated spend. The person will have Sourcing Operations , Sourcing Event and Analytics leader for the regional operations reporting into him.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Commodity Management

  • Define the sourcing strategy, market requirements and data analytics approach for commodity based purchases

  • Assess ongoing changes in commodity business requirements and assist in the negotiation of contracted price and commercial terms

  • Assess change needs, impacts, and stakeholder management activities and support change management integration activities

  • Local/ Spot Buying

  • Manage the purchase order process, including creating and approving the purchase requisition, selecting suppliers, verifying budget alignment, and confirming delivery of orders

  • Perform one-off exception purchases, negotiate final pricing terms, and select suppliers based on singular demand

  • Manage spot-buy activities from requestors, direct along appropriate channels, and resolve any inquiries and disputes

  • Perform data analytics, forecast demand, and identify baselines for purchasing that meet prioritized business requirements

  • Sourcing Management

  • Define and execute the sourcing strategy, including defining approach to market, managing sourcing event documentation and supplier invites, evaluating results, and awarding suppliers

  • Maintain supplier relationships by resolving key disputes, negotiating final pricing and commercial terms, and performing key stakeholder activities

  • Interface with suppliers and the organization on contract creation, review and approval, finalization, and further contract amendments to price and scope

  • Engage cross-functional stakeholders to address concerns, provide process updates, and conduct change management activities

  • Sourcing Event Coordination

  • Manage the execution of sourcing events from end to end, including price negotiations, vendor quote tracking, supplier selection, and contract review and approval.

  • Support suppliers and the organization throughout the process by resolving inquiries and disputes

Qualifications

Requirement for this role are:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 10 - 15 years related experience

  • Broad-based understanding of core Procurement areas of focus regarding Supplier Management

  • Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information

  • Analytical, sound judgment and decision making, problem solver

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering against targets and objectives

  • Able to prioritize requests, and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives when necessary

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (e.g., supplier management and performance, supply market analysis, Category Management, Procurement Excellence, etc.)

  • Ability to develop a high level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community

  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment
