VAT Specialist

Location: Prague

Full time permanent contract


  • Produce standard VAT reports using SAP Lynx and JDE 8.12 and reconcile the VAT data against balance sheet VAT accounts

  • Amend the standard VAT reports by using GL inquiry and SQL

  • Deliver reconciliation evidence at the end of each month and explain the differences

  • Consolidate VAT data, prepare and submit VAT Returns on local fiscal authorities websites

  • Produce and submit Intrastat reports on local fiscal or statistical authorities websites

  • Reconcile the balances against the VAT Returns and VAT account balances

  • Maintenance of the VAT templates and delivery to affiliate teams (Finance and Reporting managers, controllers)

  • Coordinate & ensure readiness to report VAT and Intrastat before each Go-Live

  • Random check of correctness of the VAT bookings

  • Monthly review and reconciliation of all VAT accounts

  • Set procedures and processes to guarantee effective delivery of VAT and Intrastat reports

  • Reconciliation of the Turnover against VAT bases and explanation of the differences

  • Maintenance and reconciliation of the Foreign VAT accounts

  • Periodic clearing of the VAT accounts for Reporting purposes

  • Ad-hoc analysis based on the requests of the affiliates/auditors

  • Maintain SOPs for VAT and Work instructions


  • Practical European VAT knowledge

  • Basic accounting & finance knowledge

  • Proficient level of written and oral English

  • Time management & prioritizing skills a must

  • Basic ERP knowledge (SAP / JDE)

  • MS Office (Excel, Access) literacy

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

  • Assertive

  • Very good communication skills

  • Team player
