Job summary

The Red Hat Identity Management Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with C programming experience to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will join diverse teams of talented individuals working on projects related to Identity Management ecosystem in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), like SSSD, Samba, FreeIPA, ViaQ, or Session Recording (tlog). You'll use both your technical skills, mainly with the C programming language, and your soft skills when liaising with engineers and open source community members of these projects. This position is a great opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest developers in the open source industry.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Take over the development, productization, and maintenance of the series of projects under the umbrella mainly Tlog and Aushape

  • Work with and community to deliver the end-to-end logging and session recording solution that would allow correlation of the logs and terminal sessions output across different systems in complex multi-node environments like Red Hat OpenStack and OpenShift by Red Hat

  • Work with other projects like SSSD and Samba that might require additional help, integration efforts, or features

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science or a related field

  • 5+ years of C development experience

  • Experience with Python and Go

  • Experience with CI and CD and related frameworks

  • Ability and experience designing complex multi-component multi-system solutions

  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum practices

  • Team player capable of joining a team and establishing good trusting relationships with new people

  • Experience with Linux system administration

  • Solid written and verbal English communication skills

  • Desire to learn and solve challenging problems

  • Understanding of the Linux identity or authentication capabilities is a plus
