Job Overview:

The Web Services Integration Consultant is a highly coveted role within SAP Concur’s quickly expanding Integration Services organization. These consultants are responsible for working with SAP Concur clients who are implementing SAP Concur’s flagship market offerings, SAP Concur Expense, SAP Concur Invoice and SAP SAP Concur Travel. The Integration Consultant establishes a positive relationship with each client, seeks to understand the business requirements related to their integration, helps translate client requirements into application design, configures integration-related components of the SAP Concur applications and works closely with SAP Concur Integration Project Managers, SAP Concur Integration Developers, and client teams to facilitate data transfer between the SAP Concur systems and the client systems. Common types of data streams include employee profiles, charts-of-accounts, pick-list items, and financial postings in the form of GL journal vouchers, vendor bill / AP invoices, and expense reports.

Integration with SAP Concur is achieved via the SAP Concur Connect RESTful web services platform (developer.concur.com). Each Consultant will be assigned multiple client projects, hold an introductory call to discuss client’s Web Services needs and configure SAP Concur entity for Web Services. Some projects are stand-alone while others are sub-projects within a larger implementation, but there is a strong team environment with substantial support and on-the-job training. The average number of hours required for each integration setup is 6-24 hours.

Employees in this position may perform some or all of the following roles within a project:

  • Perform the project management function

  • Leverage expertise with the applicable integration technologies

  • Represent functional expertise in creating/reviewing transactions in third-party accounting systems

  • Utilize technical skills in supporting client testing efforts and troubleshooting connectivity, data transformation, and posting issues.

  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to deliver technical information to a non-technical audience.

New Consultants will receive initial five day training on SAP Concur Product and SAP Concur Web Services. After initial training, you will be assigned a mentor and will shadow calls and perform tasks related to projects. After one month of training, you will be assigned your own SAP Concur Client Web Services Projects. Due to changing nature of this area of business, training is ongoing.

After consultants demonstrate consistent professionalism, proficiency, and success, there are opportunities for working from a home office part-time and, in some cases, full-time. This team is on a rapid growth trajectory and there are also opportunities for advancement along a professional career path.

Responsibilities:

For Stand-Alone Projects

  • Maintain project plans according to SAP Concur’s methodology.

  • Manage and monitor projects against the initial project plans.

  • Manage the expectations of the client (internal and external) with regard to project objectives, deliverables, timeframes, etc. by understanding the key business drivers and their prioritization.

  • Ensure completion of deliverables, managing schedules, meeting milestones, delivering within budget, and ensuring creative and technical success.

For Sub-Projects (Projects Run in Parallel With Core Product Implementations)

  • Liaise with SAP Concur internal resources to ensure understanding and clear communications

  • Remain accountable to project plan deadlines

  • Consistently communicate project status with the SAP Concur project manager and/or customer by means of status reports and status calls.

For All Types of Projects

  • Gather functional and business requirements from client and translate into a functional hosted solution design according to client needs and scope of SAP SAP Concur products/services

  • Conduct client training, design and knowledge transfer sessions.

  • Support client’s testing cycles - research complex customer problems, issues, and circumstances and provide recommendations, alternatives, and risk assessments to client project manager

  • Adhere to SAP Concur SOP’s to transition customers from implementation to production support.

  • Develop and maintain functional and technical product knowledge

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of SAP SAP Concur’s implementation practices and methodologies

  • Provide contributions to SAP Concur’s project methodology and document library which includes development of new documents/processes as well as updates to existing documents/processes

  • Represent the Department on cross-functional teams

  • Be aware of, and comply with, all corporate policies.

Qualifications:

Education, Experience & Training:

Required

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience

  • Aptitude to learn new processes and technologies

  • Positive attitude, energetic personality, ability to work well with clients and other SAP Concur consultants

  • Mental stamina to juggle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Team player

  • Desire to embrace challenges and provide great customer service

  • Experience with project management

  • Experience in a client-facing consulting role such as a software implementation consulting role

  • Experience with basic accounting terminology and practical application (journal vouchers)

  • Functional familiarity with RESTful web services

Preferred

  • Experience with SQL, iPaaS, ETL, Java, and/or .NET

  • Experience with coding to RESTful web services

  • Spanish or second language fluency

  • Experience with basic accounting terminology and practical application (journal vouchers)
