IBM Natural Language Conversation Developer in PRAHA, Czech Republic

Job Description

IBM Watson IoT is looking for a talented Conversation Developer to architect and develop natural language experiences for the Watson Assistant for Industry. As a Natural Language Conversation Developer, you will create and fine-tune Natural Language experiences on a multi-channel platform that enables enterprises to deliver the next generation of natural and intuitive experiences for their customers.


  • Architect, develop and fine-tune spoken and written Natural Language experiences to deliver exceptional interactions for end-users

  • Collaborate with software engineers to design integration points for seamless developer experiences

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers and engage with customers and clients to understand requirements and create experiences

  • Deliver incremental improvements in an agile release cycles, using lean methodologies

  • Define quality metrics and instrumentation, and drive continuous improvements to experiences based on data

  • Collaborate with translators to deliver experiences in multiple languages

  • Learn, practice, design and develop and innovative Natural Language Interaction design techniques and methodologies

  • Design and implement domain-specific data elements that will be used/communicated between different conversation experiences

  • Design and implement proactive event-driven behaviors in conversation flows

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • BA/BS in Human-Computer Interaction, Linguistics, Cognitive Science or related field

  • Proven hands-on experience with Natural Language technologies

  • Excellent understanding of the principles of conversation, as well as the relevant technologies including Speech Recognition, Speech Synthesis, Natural Language Understanding, Machine Learning and Cognitive Science

  • Knowledgeable about differences between written and spoken Natural Language, as well as multimodal inputs

  • Experience with any or all of the following: IBM Watson Conversation Services, Intent Classification, Entity Recognition, Google Cloud Conversation / DialogFlow / API.AI, Microsoft Bot Framework, Amazon Alexa Skills, Emotion/ Sentiment analysis

  • Data driven, analytical and detail-oriented

  • Thrives working in a team and excels at making others great

  • Passionate about creating new products that change the way people interact with the world

  • Native-level written and spoken English

Desired Technical and Professional Experience

  • Prior experience in similar roles: designing, coding and/or testing Natural Language Interfaces

  • Experience developing enterprise software solutions

  • Experience in software development, including experience with Node.JS or Python and experience implementing interfaces between components

  • Experience designing and implementing data schemas

  • Experience in agile project delivery and in delivering cloud services
